Care Guide

Light

Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate low light, but flowering may be reduced. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Water

Water when the top 1 inch of soil feels dry. Keep soil evenly moist, but not soggy. Peace Lilies are sensitive to chlorine and fluoride in tap water — use filtered or distilled water if possible. Drooping leaves often indicate underwatering, but they usually recover quickly after watering.

Temperature & Humidity

Ideal temperature: 18–27°C (65–80°F). Keep away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes. Enjoys high humidity — mist leaves occasionally or place near a humidifier.

Soil & Potting

Use well-draining, peat-based soil mix. A mix of potting soil + perlite or orchid bark works well. Repot every 1–2 years or when roots outgrow the pot.

Fertilizing

Feed with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer every 6–8 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce feeding in fall and winter when growth slows. Over-fertilizing can cause brown leaf tips.

Pruning & Maintenance

Remove yellow or brown leaves to encourage new growth. Cut old flower stalks at the base once blooms fade. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to keep them dust-free.

Propagation

Best propagated by division when repotting. Gently separate root clumps and replant into smaller pots.

Common Problems & Solutions

Brown leaf tips → Low humidity, chemicals in water, or over-fertilization. Yellow leaves → Overwatering or poor drainage. No blooms → Not enough light or too much fertilizer. Drooping leaves → Underwatering or rootbound plant.
