Care Guide

Light

Prefers bright, indirect light for blooming. Can tolerate medium light, but flowers may be fewer. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch leaves.

Water

Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Keep soil slightly moist but not waterlogged. Reduce watering during winter dormancy. Use lukewarm, filtered, or rainwater to avoid leaf damage.

Temperature & Humidity

Ideal temperature: 18–27°C (65–80°F). Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes. Loves high humidity (60%+) – mist leaves, use a pebble tray, or a humidifier.

Soil & Potting

Grows best in a well-draining, airy mix – potting soil + orchid bark + perlite. Repot every 2–3 years or when roots outgrow the container.

Fertilizing

Feed every 6–8 weeks during spring and summer with a phosphorus-rich fertilizer to encourage flowering. Avoid over-fertilizing, which can burn roots.

Pruning & Maintenance

Remove faded flowers and yellow leaves at the base. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to maintain shine and remove dust.

Propagation

Best propagated by division during repotting. Gently separate rooted sections and plant in smaller pots.

Common Problems & Solutions

Brown leaf tips → Low humidity or chemicals in water. Yellow leaves → Overwatering or poor drainage. No blooms → Not enough light or improper fertilization. Pests (aphids, mealybugs) → Treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
