Care Guide

Light

Prefers bright, indirect sunlight. Can tolerate some direct morning sun but avoid harsh afternoon rays. Grows well under fluorescent or LED grow lights indoors.

Water

Water sparingly; allow soil to dry completely between waterings. In summer: water every 2–3 weeks. In winter: reduce to once a month or less. Overwatering causes root rot quickly.

Temperature & Humidity

Thrives at 18–27°C (65–80°F). Keep above 10°C (50°F) to avoid cold damage. Prefers low to average indoor humidity; no misting needed.

Soil & Potting

Use a well-draining cactus/succulent mix. Add perlite or pumice for better aeration. Small pots with drainage holes are ideal for its shallow roots.

Fertilizing

Feed with a diluted succulent fertilizer once every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer. Stop fertilizing in winter dormancy.

Pruning & Maintenance

Requires little maintenance. Remove dried leaves from the base to keep the plant neat. Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust.

Propagation

Propagates easily through offsets (pups) that grow around the base. Separate pups when a few inches tall and plant in dry soil. Can also propagate by leaf cuttings, though less common.

Common Problems & Solutions

Mushy leaves: Overwatering → Reduce watering and improve soil drainage. Brown tips: Too much direct sun or underwatering → Move to indirect light and water moderately. No growth: Insufficient light → Relocate to a brighter spot or use grow lights. Pests (mealybugs/aphids): Treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
